City and County Support Affordable Housing Development

To address the need for affordable and middle housing, the City has identified city-owned property for the development of affordable and/or market-rate housing in Spokane Valley. The Spokane Valley City Council desires to prioritize projects targeting workforce housing, senior housing, and mixed-income development, with an emphasis on creating homeownership opportunities.  The City intends to grant the property to the chosen applicant for the portions used for affordable housing. Qualified development applicants should review and respond to the city’s Request for Proposal (RFP) by 4 p.m. on Jan. 17. Simultaneously, Spokane County released its 2025 Request for Proposal (RFP) for Homeless Services, Affordable Housing and Community Development projects. Potential housing projects in Spokane Valley could be eligible for both funding opportunities.
