Spokane Valley Invites Community to Help Shape the Future of City Parks and Recreation
Spokane Valley, WA — The City of Spokane Valley is updating its Parks and Recreation Master Plan and invites all residents to help envision the future of the city’s parks, trails, open spaces and recreation programs.
Community members are invited to attend an open house on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Spokane Valley Library, 22 N. Herald Road, Spokane Valley. At the open house, attendees can learn more about the project and share their experiences, ideas, priorities and expectations for the future of Spokane Valley’s parks and recreation system.
In addition to the open house, the City is offering a variety of ways for the community to contribute to the plan. All are invited to visit the project webpage to take a survey, map ideas, share priorities and/or tell the City about your big idea.
“We’re eager to listen, learn and partner with our residents throughout this process,” said Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Director John Bottelli. “Our community members' voices are essential in creating a parks and recreation system that truly reflects Spokane Valley.”
The Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Master Plan update will evaluate existing parks and amenities, assess current and future community needs, and establish goals and objectives to guide the city’s park system over the next 6 to 10 years.
