[ARCHIVED] Spokane Valley Seeks Planning Commissioners

News Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 30, 2023

Spokane Valley, WA – The City of Spokane Valley is accepting applications to fill two openings on the Planning Commission. The vacancies are for a three-year term.

The Planning Commission studies and makes recommendations to the City Council for future planned growth as directed by the Council. Qualifications include having an interest in planning, land use, transportation, capital infrastructure and building and landscape design as evidenced by training, experience or interest in the City of Spokane Valley. 

Commission members are nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of at least four members of the City Council. The appointments are tentatively scheduled to be made at a January 2024 Council meeting. 

Members are selected without respect to political affiliations. All board and commission members are volunteers, serve without compensation and must reside within the Spokane Valley city limits.

The commission typically meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays at Spokane Valley City Hall located at 10210 E. Sprague Avenue.
