The City of Spokane Valley is sponsoring a Birthday Bash at this year’s Valleyfest celebration on Saturday, Sept. 23, to commemorate its 20th year of incorporation!
The city invites everyone to join in the celebration at its booth on the West Lawn Plaza at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N Discovery Place.
The city will celebrate its first 20 years in collaboration with the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum. The booth will feature historical displays, a time capsule, and games! Show your Valley pride by taking a photo in the photo booth or a selfie in front of the mobile anniversary display and tag it with #SpokaneValley20.
Join us at 5 p.m. for a more formal celebration on the Plaza. The program is expected to last about 30 minutes and will include recognition of current and former elected officials, and 20th Anniversary Committee members. Afterward, there will be birthday cake, cookies, and other festivities.
Other activities include Spokane Cornhole, which will have game boards available. Enjoy “Cornhole with the Cops” with Spokane Valley Police officers on and off during the day. Nearby, Valleyfest will have food trucks, a wine/beer garden, and live music beginning at 11 a.m.
The city is sponsoring two bands on the plaza that evening to keep the party rolling: The Kevin Shay Band at 5:30 p.m. and Nu Jack City at 8 p.m. Come and celebrate with us!
Valleyfest is held each September kicking off with the Hearts of Gold Parade on Sprague Avenue on Friday night followed by an array of events at Mirabeau Point Park, Plantes Ferry Sports Complex, and CenterPlace Regional Event Center in the Spokane Valley. Live entertainment for the entire family, an opportunity to meet and have fun with friends, and recognize area youth for their talents.
