[ARCHIVED] Q & A 1 - Wellesley Avenue Preservation Project

Wellesley Ave Preservation Project, No. 0353
Responses to Bid Questions, 5/14/25

Q1: I’m working to prepare a sub bid for signs and markings and was unable to find a Bid Item for the Flexible Crosswalk Signs (Keynote #11) found on CH1 of the plans. Was this missed or is it inclusive of the sign bid?

Response: They are to be included in the “Permanent Signing” bid item.

Q2: Does the City happen to know the thickness of the existing HMA and crushed surfacing section on Wellesley Ave. within the project limits?

Response: Yes, we did a couple of core samples on Wellesley. The existing asphalt is about 4” thick. I do not know the thickness of the existing crushed surfacing, as the width of the road has grown over the years and it varies. However, last year Avista installed a gas line along Wellesley within our project limits, and our inspector recalls the crushed surfacing to be about 4”
